MICRO PAINT'S GREAT RAPPORT WITH CUSTOMERS- KEEPS BUSINESS GOING!![]() Relationships have always played a big part in the Micro Paint story. It was founded as a family-owned and operated business in 1948 in Highland Park, Michigan. Today, Micro Paint remains a family business and Howard Hicks Jr. is the Sales Manager. Brother John and sisters Tammy and Kim are also part of the team. In addition to the Highland Park facility of 10,000 sq. ft., there are two more 3,000 sq. ft. Micro Paint locations each in Flint and Wayne, Michigan. The company's service area covers most of southwest Michigan right down to the Ohio border. The strong relationship between BASF and Howard Jr. led to his serving on the BASF Jobber Council. In fact, Howard was instrumental in helping develop the ColorSource program for single line jobbers. BASF's Sales Management team - with their customer focus - rate high with Howard. "They're super guys who've taught me a lot about the business. They're sharp, insightful businessmen who know the ins and outs of the business and were happy to share their knowledge. They've contributed a lot to our success." Howard describes BASF as "an excellent company, very accessible and extremely customer-oriented." We think that description also fits Micro Paint perfectly.
